Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups whole milk
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon peppermint extract
3-4 drops green food coloring (optional)
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips, chopped

METHOD:

In a large bowl, whisk together milk, cream, sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and peppermint extract until the sugar has dissolved. Add a few drops of green food coloring, if desired.

Pour the cream mixture into the ice cream maker, and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions. After 10 minutes into the churning, add the chopped chocolate chips. After the ice cream has thickened, about 30 minutes later, pack it into a container, cover it, and freeze it for 2 hours.
