12 slices Golden Sheaf sourdough bread, sliced thin
1 cup Farmhouse Culture sauerkraut (any flavor – they’re all incredible)
2 cups Schoch Family Farmstead Jack cheese, grated
Butter, olive oil, or cooking spray olive oil, as needed
Put some cheese on 6 slices of bread, then spread a bit of sauerkraut, then more cheese, and then top with the other slices of bread.
Lightly spread outside of bread with butter (or mist with cooking spray olive oil). Heat a griddle or a large skillet over medium high heat until hot. Place sandwiches on griddle or skillet and grill until golden brown on one side. Flip sandwich over and grill until golden brown and cheese melts.
Serve immediately with a nice tomato mint chutney or homemade plum tomato ketchup.
