Cinnamon Honey Butter

There’s nothing quite like the irresistible flavor of sweet honey and warm cinnamon swirled into creamy butter. This homemade Cinnamon Honey Butter spread is the perfect way to add a touch of comfort to your table. With just four simple ingredients and under 10 minutes, you can whip up a treat that’s every bit as indulgent as it is easy.

Slather it on warm biscuits, pancakes, waffles, scones, or fresh bread for a cozy breakfast. Pair it with cornbread at dinner, melt it over roasted sweet potatoes, or package it in a jar for a thoughtful homemade gift. However you enjoy it, this sweet-spiced butter will quickly become a staple in your kitchen.

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup salted butter, room temperature (Plugra or Kerrygold recommended)
6 tablespoons raw honey
½–1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon salt

METHOD:

In a medium mixing bowl, add softened butter, honey, cinnamon, and salt.

Using a hand mixer, stand mixer, or whisk, beat until the butter mixture is light, fluffy, and smooth. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.

Taste and adjust: add more cinnamon for a bolder spice or a touch more honey for sweetness.

Transfer the butter to an airtight container or small jars. (If using small jars, a pastry bag is useful.)

Refrigerate for up to 1 week. Allow the butter to soften at room temperature before serving for easy spreading.

VARIATIONS AND TIPS:

  • Replace honey with maple syrup, agave nectar, or even brown sugar for a different sweetness profile.
  • Add a pinch of nutmeg or ginger for extra warmth, or stir in a splash of vanilla extract for a richer flavor.
  • Try a light sprinkle of cayenne for a sweet-and-spicy kick.
  • Spread on muffins, pancakes, waffles, or scones; melt over baked squash or sweet potatoes; or use as a finishing butter for dinner rolls.
