How to Cook Fresh Peanuts
Roasting or boiling fresh peanuts is a simple and satisfying way to transform this classic snack. Whether you’re craving a crunchy, savory treat or a soft, flavorful bite, preparing them at home allows you to customize the seasoning and texture to your liking.
To cook fresh peanuts, you can either boil or roast them. Each method enhances different flavors and textures, letting you choose based on your preference.

Boiling Fresh Peanuts
1. Rinse the fresh peanuts thoroughly to remove any dirt.
2. Place the peanuts in a large pot and cover them with water, ensuring there’s about 1-2 inches of water above the peanuts.
3. Add salt (about 1/4 cup for every 1 pound of peanuts, or to taste) to the water.
4. Bring the pot to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer the peanuts for 2-4 hours, depending on how soft you want them.
5. Check for tenderness periodically. When they are as soft as you like, remove the pot from heat and let the peanuts sit in the brine for an additional hour for maximum flavor.
6. Drain the peanuts and enjoy!

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
