Zesty Steak Sauce

Skip the store-bought bottle and whip up this bold, tangy steak sauce right in your own kitchen. Packed with layers of flavor from ketchup, Worcestershire, soy sauce, lemon juice, and a touch of Dijon, this sauce balances sweet, savory, and zesty notes beautifully. It’s simmered slowly to bring everything together, then strained for a smooth finish that pairs perfectly with grilled steaks, burgers, pork chops, or even roasted vegetables. Once you’ve tried it, you’ll never want to go back to the pre-made stuff.

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups ketchup
2 garlic cloves, peeled and minced
2/3 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup EACH lemon juice, water, Worcestershire sauce and vinegar
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

METHOD:

Combine all of the ingredients in a 3-quart saucepan; bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes.

Cool slightly and strain. Cover and refrigerate.

YIELD: 3 cups
