Amen Bee Honey Cranberry Sauce

This Amen Bee Honey Cranberry Sauce from Lynne Bottazzo of Amen Bee Products is a bright, naturally sweet twist on a holiday classic. Made with pure orange blossom honey, it balances the cranberries’ tartness with floral notes and gentle sweetness. Lynne loves to make a double batch for her family — and it’s easy to see why. Fresh citrus juice and zest add brightness, while the honey lends a silky finish and depth of flavor that sugar can’t match. Perfect for Thanksgiving dinner and beyond, this versatile sauce is just as delicious spooned over roasted meats as it is drizzled on vanilla ice cream.

INGREDIENTS:

1 (12-ounce) bag organic cranberries
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup orange juice (Tarocco or blood orange juice complements the cranberries beautifully)
3/4 to 1 cup Amen Bee orange blossom honey
Zest of one orange, divided

METHOD:

In a medium saucepan, combine cranberries, water, and orange juice. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer gently for 6–8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries begin to pop and the sauce thickens slightly.

Remove from heat and stir in the honey and half of the orange zest. Taste and adjust sweetness, adding more honey if desired.

Let the sauce cool to room temperature, then transfer to a glass container and refrigerate until chilled. Before serving, garnish with the remaining orange zest.

SERVING SUGGESTIONS:

  • Serve with roast turkey, chicken, pork, or baked ham.
  • Spread on sandwiches with leftover turkey and soft cheese.
  • Spoon over vanilla ice cream, cheesecake, or yogurt for a festive dessert.
  • Swirl into oatmeal or hot cereal for a naturally sweet breakfast treat.

YIELD: Makes about 2 cups
