Creamy Matcha Green Tea Smoothie

Earthy matcha, creamy yogurt, and sweet fruit come together in this refreshing smoothie that feels both energizing and nourishing. Matcha — finely ground green tea powder traditionally used in Japanese tea ceremonies — adds gentle caffeine along with antioxidants and a beautiful green color that pairs naturally with spring and summer ingredients.

This smoothie is especially good for mornings when you want something light yet sustaining. Banana softens the grassy notes of the matcha, while spinach blends in almost invisibly for an extra boost of greens. For additional protein and creaminess, cottage cheese or silken tofu can easily be added.

INGREDIENTS:

1 teaspoon matcha green tea powder
1 frozen banana
1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
3/4 cup milk or unsweetened almond milk
1 handful fresh spinach
1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup, optional
1 tablespoon hemp seeds or chia seeds
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Ice cubes, if needed

METHOD:

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and creamy. Add additional milk if needed to reach desired consistency.
