Strawberry Cottage Cheese Smoothie

Sweet strawberries and creamy cottage cheese come together in this simple high-protein smoothie that tastes almost like strawberry cheesecake in a glass. Cottage cheese blends surprisingly smoothly, adding richness and staying power without overpowering the fresh berry flavor.

This is an especially wonderful late spring and early summer smoothie when strawberries are at their peak at the farmers market. Chia seeds add fiber and omega-3 fatty acids, while kefir or milk creates a silky texture that makes this smoothie both refreshing and satisfying.

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup fresh strawberries
1/2 cup cottage cheese
1/2 frozen banana
1/2 cup milk or plain kefir
1 teaspoon honey
1 tablespoon chia seeds

METHOD:

Combine all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth and creamy. Serve immediately.

Optional Add-Ins:

  • For additional fiber and digestive support, add 1 teaspoon inulin.
  • A splash of vanilla extract also pairs beautifully with the strawberries and cottage cheese.
  • Frozen strawberries may be substituted for a thicker smoothie. If using very sweet peak-season berries, the honey may be omitted.
